Gearing up for its sixth Career Expo, Tallahassee Community College's Career Center is providing a job fair to once again give students the opportunity to meet potential employers. In turn, the business community can connect with TCC students, alumni and guests and select from TCC's large talent pool to meet their employment needs.
TCC's Spring 2009 Career Expo will be held on Wednesday, February 18, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the TCC Student Union Ballroom. Students are encouraged to come with resumes and expectations of finding an internship, part-time or full-time job. Business-casual dress is recommended.
“More than 1,300 students have attended TCC's Career Expos since its inception in 2006,” said Felicia Williams, Counseling Specialist. “These students are interested in taking their education to the next level by meeting with potential employers, essentially beginning their careers while still attending college.”
Cumulus Media, WORKFORCE Plus and TCC's University Partners – Embry-Riddle University, Barry University and Flagler College – will be in attendance. The Tallahassee Police Department, Capital City Bank, Hancock Bank, the U.S. Department of State, the Social Security Administration and Wild Adventures are just some of the participants in this year's Expo. TCC's Human Resources office will also be readily available to share the employment opportunities at the College.
Businesses that want to participate in this event must register by February 17. There is a $100 registration fee. A continental breakfast and lunch will also be offered to participants.
Students may attend the Career Expo free of charge.
